Hats Off To Our Deputy Head Hatter!

Posted on Thursday, 6th April 2023

Celebrations are afoot at Hatters Towers as we offer huge congratulations to Alice, for being promoted from Head of Operations to Deputy Head Hatter, our Queen of Promo’s right hand person! With Alice taking over more of the day-to-day running of the business, Jo is freed up to develop opportunities and partnerships with other suppliers and clients as well as potential acquisitions for the Hatters Group of Companies.

Alice first joined us five years ago as a Production Executive, liaising with suppliers on the management of print and promotional merchandise orders. Just as the company offering has grown to include fulfilment, pick and pack distribution, webshops and hampers, now Alice finds her role has grown into managing the team and day to day operations of the whole business. Reviewing and implementing systems, resource management and being a senior contact for our top clients, will also fall under her remit.

The company has recovered well from the impact of the Covid-19 pandemic; almost doubling in 2022 and is looking to do the same again this year. Alice contributed significantly during the various lockdowns in helping Hatters pivot away from pure print and promotional merchandise, working all the way through, and so has been instrumental in expanding the company offering.

Jo Shippen, our Founder and MD, says: “You often hear that the only way to develop a career path is to join a large company, and that smaller companies like ours can only offer ‘a job’. Alice and Hatters are a great example of just how misguided this thinking is. There are so many opportunities to become involved in so many different aspects of running a smaller company, for those with the appetite to learn, develop and grow, seizing those opportunities inevitably leads to them forging a fantastic career path. Alice has always been a champion for the team here, and I’m personally very proud of her achievements. As should she be.”

There are no barriers to achievement at Hatters Towers and we raise our hat to you Alice, our Deputy Head Hatter!
